As part of the candidature of Dubrovnik for European Capital of Culture 2020, nine artists and artist collectives were invited to the project “Public exposure / Razotkrivanje” to intervene within the city in accordance with the principles of co-creation, experiment and research approach. On Saturday, 9 January at 14h art collective Numen will present the installation TAPE MLJET in Goveđari, Mljet National Park as part of the project “Public exposure / Razotkrivanje”.
Numen (Sven Jonke, Nikola Radeljković) is a world-renowned art collective which will realize work TAPE MLJET discussing the fate of the island and the fact that there is constant migration from the island to the extent that there are no children on the island. The main idea of TAPE MLJET is the transformation of the entire building in the convulsive body whose fragile internal boundaries are limiting motivated researchers to find and confront. Bimorphous stretched skin TAPE MLJET means entry into the overall experience, becoming literal incarnation of regressive environment. The work was realized in various concepts and forms in Paris, Tokyo, Hasselt, Melbourne, Frankfurt, Orebrou, Florence, Stockholm, Berlin and Belgrade.
We invite all who are interested to come to the opening ceremony. After opening ceremony, reception and presentation will be held at gallery Stara skula. For this occasion free transport is organized for which you can apply via phone +385977383200 or mail info@dubrovnik2020.hr.
