World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22. For this occasion, the Public Institution “Mljet National Park” held field class for students of the Elementary School Mljet – PS Goveđari to learn more about the importance of water conservation. Accompanied by Jakov Nodilo, an employee of Preservation, Promotion and Utilization Department, the students visited two ponds in the area of the Mljet National Park. The first pond that the students visited was at the location Dobra njiva, which is of anthropological origin and usually dries up during the summer. The second pond where the students learned something new is in Vodice, it is a spring that does not dry out and is a habitat for frogs, dragonflies and other animals. It is also important for bats because it serves as a watering place for them.
